Anxiety is a state of mind where one is worried, nervous, or afraid of something with an uncertain outcome. Living in fear can cause a lot of health conditions and can gradually steal away peace.
In this series, we will be looking at practical ways to overcome anxiety and embrace peace in our lives. Today, I will be sharing some scriptures that strengthen us in times of anxiety:
2 Timothy 1:7
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Luke 12:22
“Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.”
Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Psalm 34:4
“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”
Psalm 94:19
“When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.”
Psalm 23:1-4
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
These scriptures give hope and reassurance on how to handle anxiety as Christians. If you are currently anxious about anxiety, meditate on these scriptures, even as you pray for the peace of God to fill your life.
Have a beautiful week ahead, Jesus loves you!
Keep in Mind
It is very possible to find peace when anxious; no matter how difficult the circumstances around, always remember that there is nothing too hard for God.
