Read: Daniel 6
Hello Friend!
Today’s publication reminds us to always trust God and hold on to His promises because He never fails.
What does it feel like to be thrown into the lion’s den? That’s one of the most terrifying things to imagine. Imagine Daniel being thrown into the pit with hungry lions waiting for food. Imagine looking at the lions and seeing the hunger in their eyes, their fists clenched in readiness to attack, their mouths dripping with saliva and their tails wagging left and right. Imagine the lions coming close to him, and every step sending panic to his spines.
Finally, imagine the lions stylishly grabbing him down to mark another feast of the den! But this wasn’t so, or maybe it played out another way, we can only imagine. The King said something important after Daniel was thrown into the den. In Daniel 6:16 - “So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”
Of course, the king didn’t expect anyone thrown into the Lion’s Den to come out alive, but somewhere in his heart, he had some confidence about the God Daniel served, the sovereign God. Daniel also believed so much in God to save him, and contrary to our imaginations, a different scene played out. In verse 22, Daniel said, “My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.” What a testimony!
Sometimes, it is harder to trust when you cannot find a way to escape. However, today's message is that God always comes through, no matter how bad it gets. No matter how dark it gets, his countenance shines so brightly. No matter how ugly it looks, he makes everything beautiful. No matter how much the pressure, he calms every storm. Even when the circumstances of life come dragging us down, He will never let them overcome us. He shut the mouth of the lions to save Daniel from being devoured, what is too hard for Him to do?
No matter how hard it gets, God will always come through because He alone has all the answers to every problem. However, in the same book of Daniel (Daniel 11:32b), it is written that “the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” It is when we know Him that we can have so much trust in Him. How well do you know the Father? May the Holy Spirit help us to have a deeper understanding of God, so we can learn to trust Him more.
Keep in Mind
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
Prayer
Today’s prayer is a verse from a hymn and is more of a declaration:
“Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.”

Thank God for always coming through for us like he did for Daniel
