When safety is guaranteed (Prayer Edition)

Read: Psalm 91 

Hello Friend!

Have you ever found yourself in a place where you felt so scared and almost so sure that something bad will happen? A young woman narrated a story of how she got lost after a ship wreck, that she thought she would never be found. How would it feel to find yourself somewhere far away with no way to reach anyone who knows you? To think of it is quite scary, right? 

Many things in this life can be scary, and there are many risks we take in life. Stepping out of your house everyday can even be a risk, because no one knows what lurks out there. But as children of God, we don’t live in fear, but live everyday with the assurance that God is always with us and He is always watching over us. The book of Psalms 91:11-12 says that, “For He will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.” Isn’t that so reassuring?!

In today’s publication, we are building our faith in God’s word, even as we pray 3 important prayers. As we gradually approach the second half of the year, may we continue to dwell safely under God’s canopy. Amen!

When obedience seems hard

Have you ever thought about what you would do if you were in Abraham’s position? God asked him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac — the son he had waited for all his life. Imagine the thoughts that must have run through his mind as he walked toward that mountain, carrying wood and fire but no explanation. Yet, Abraham obeyed. He trusted that even in this impossible command, God had a purpose. His faith reminds us that true obedience sometimes means surrendering what we value most. Sometimes, God asks us to let go of something dear — a dream, a relationship, or even a habit — and our first instinct is to resist. We grumble, argue, or try to reason it out because obedience can feel costly. But obedience, even when hard, is proof of our trust in God. Truly humble?

“True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.” Proverbs 22 : 4 NLT As a Christian, have you ever been convicted in your heart that you were acting out of pride? Sometimes pride creeps in unnoticed—especially when we get carried away with church activities or even personal achievements. Before we realize it, we may start thinking we are the center of attraction instead of giving God the glory.
