Unconditional gratitude

Hello Friend!
Happy New Month! I trust you are doing well. Welcome back to Narrow and Beautiful, it's always good to have you here. By God's grace, May shall be a blessed month for you and your family.

As we journey through the month of May, let gratitude fill our hearts each day—no matter the highs or lows life may bring. God’s faithfulness never fades, and His power to sustain and provide for His own remains unshaken. Give thanks for all He has done, for where you are now, and for the hope and blessings yet to come.

Below are 10 powerful scriptures on thanksgiving and gratitude for all God has done.

1. Psalm 100:4 – “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”

Thanksgiving is the gateway to God’s presence. Every time we approach Him with a grateful heart, we step into a deeper experience of His joy and peace.

2. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 – “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

No matter the situation, choosing to give thanks aligns our hearts with God’s will. It reminds us that He is working even in the hard seasons.

3. Colossians 3:17 – “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Gratitude isn’t just for special moments—it should be present in our words, our actions, and every part of daily life.

4. Philippians 4:6 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Thanksgiving turns our focus from worry to worship. It invites God’s peace as we trust Him with our needs.

5. Psalm 107:1 – “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

Even when circumstances change, God’s goodness and love remain constant. That truth gives us reason to be thankful every day.

6. Ephesians 5:20 – “Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Gratitude isn’t seasonal—it’s a lifestyle. We’re called to give thanks always, because God is always working for our good.

7. Psalm 95:2-3 – “Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.”

Worship filled with thanksgiving lifts our spirits and magnifies the greatness of our God, reminding us of His unmatched power.

8. Colossians 4:2 – “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

A thankful heart keeps us spiritually aware and helps us see God’s hand even in the small things we often overlook.

9. Hebrews 12:28 – “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.”

We belong to a kingdom that cannot be moved, and that truth should fill our hearts with unshakable gratitude and reverence.

10. Psalm 118:1 – “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

There is never a day when God’s love runs out. His enduring goodness is more than enough reason to give thanks continually.

Let these verses be a reminder that gratitude is a powerful expression of faith. Keep your heart full of praise, and may God fill your days with joy, strength, and beautiful surprises.

Giving Thanks in Everything

Sometimes life feels like it’s falling apart — plans fail, losses come unexpectedly, and hope seems distant. Think of a time when things weren’t going the way you wanted; with all the emotions rushing through your mind, gratitude was probably the last thing you wanted to express. Yet, this is exactly where true thanksgiving begins — not when life is perfect, but when we trust that God is still good, even when things don’t seem that way. God’s Word encourages us to give thanks in all circumstances because He cares deeply for us, and His thoughts toward us are always good (Jeremiah 29:11). Even when things seem unclear, His plans are still for our peace and not for our destruction. Sometimes, we need to pause and look back at our lives to see the countless blessings we’ve overlooked. The psalmist reminds us to remember the deeds of the Lord and meditate on His works (Psalm 77:11–12). As we walk through tough seasons, it’s important to shift our focus away from negativity and toward the...

When obedience seems hard

Have you ever thought about what you would do if you were in Abraham’s position? God asked him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac — the son he had waited for all his life. Imagine the thoughts that must have run through his mind as he walked toward that mountain, carrying wood and fire but no explanation. Yet, Abraham obeyed. He trusted that even in this impossible command, God had a purpose. His faith reminds us that true obedience sometimes means surrendering what we value most. Sometimes, God asks us to let go of something dear — a dream, a relationship, or even a habit — and our first instinct is to resist. We grumble, argue, or try to reason it out because obedience can feel costly. But obedience, even when hard, is proof of our trust in God. Jesus Himself obeyed the Father even unto death (Philippians 2:8), and that obedience brought salvation to the whole world. The Bible makes it clear that disobedience leads to pain and loss. Saul lost his throne because he disobeyed God’s instr...

Truly humble?

“True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.” Proverbs 22 : 4 NLT As a Christian, have you ever been convicted in your heart that you were acting out of pride? Sometimes pride creeps in unnoticed—especially when we get carried away with church activities or even personal achievements. Before we realize it, we may start thinking we are the center of attraction instead of giving God the glory. Pride is subtle but dangerous, and if we are not careful, our service to God can become more about ourselves than Him. May we never be deprived of God’s blessings because of pride. True humility begins with total reverence for God—acknowledging Him for who He is and recognizing that everything we have comes from Him. Scripture reminds us in James 4:6 that, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humility is not weakness; it is strength under God’s control. It is the heart that bows before God, knowing He alone is our source. The fear of the Lord goe...
