Have you ever been deeply disappointed by someone you trusted completely? Maybe it was a friend, a family member, or even a mentor—someone you thought would always be there for you, yet they let you down. It’s a painful reminder that human love, no matter how strong, can falter.
As humans, we are not always lovable. We make mistakes, fall short, and sometimes fail others. But here’s the beautiful truth—God’s love is different. His love doesn’t shift with moods or circumstances; it remains constant and unwavering.
In Psalm 21:7 (NLT), David declared:
“For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.”
David knew firsthand that God’s love was his anchor. It was God’s unfailing love that kept him from stumbling, even in seasons of battle, betrayal, and fear.
We see this same assurance in Lamentations 3:22–23 (NLT) – “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
God’s love is unconditional—it’s not based on our performance, worthiness, or perfection. But that doesn’t mean we should take it for granted. His love calls us to draw near to Him, to live in a way that reflects His goodness, and to trust that no matter the storms, His love will keep us steady.
Just as David trusted God’s love to uphold him, we can also rest in this truth: if God’s love was strong enough to sustain a king through battles and betrayals, it is strong enough to carry us through our own trials.
Takeaway
God’s love never fails—it sustains, protects, and keeps us from falling. Trust in it, live in it, and let it shape your response to life’s challenges.
Jesus loves you!
