Valentine’s Day just passed and we saw love displayed in different colors. Some people just got proposed to. Some were promised unending love. Some broke up. Some got back together again. Some swore never to love again. And some have even concluded that love is synonymous with money.
The world has painted love in many confusing and sometimes misleading ways, but one truth remains steady and unshaken—God’s love is unwavering, constant, and unconditional. It is nothing compared to the love of men.
Human love can be beautiful, but it can also change. People disappoint, promises are broken, and feelings fade. But God’s love does not fluctuate with seasons or emotions. “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease” (Lamentations 3:22–23).
His love is not based on how well we perform or how lovable we seem. “God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8). That means He loved us at our worst, before we ever tried to get it right.
Are you at a point in your life where you have given up on love because of how deeply you were hurt or badly treated? Or do you consider yourself unlovable because of how far you strayed from God? Maybe you think you are not worthy of love because you feel there is nothing good about you. There is assurance for you. God loved you even before you knew Him. “I have loved you, My people, with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). His love is not earned; it is given freely.
God’s love is unconditional and intentional. Jesus spoke about the shepherd who would leave the ninety-nine sheep to search for the one that wandered away (Luke 15:4–7). That is how deeply He cares. No matter how far you think you have gone, He seeks you. No matter how broken you feel, He restores. “Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love… neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow” (Romans 8:38–39). His love pursues, forgives, heals, and welcomes.
If you are yet to truly understand this love because you do not know Him or have not experienced a relationship with Jesus, today can be your turning point.
Please say this prayer:
“Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me just as I am. I confess today that You are Lord, and I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I give my life to You today—please take me as Your own. Help me, lead me, and show me the way to go. Amen.”
If you just said this prayer, welcome to the family of God! His love for you is incomparable, and it will never fail.
